CBRE has announced the founding of the CBRE Indigenous Centre of Excellence, an initiative aiming to increase supply chain diversity and connect Indigenous organisations with business opportunities through the company and its client base.
Nine Indigenous organisations representing excellence and experience in a range of industries have been announced as founding members. The organisations were chosen based on selection criteria including Supply Nation Certified Supplier status and a demonstrated commitment to delivering positive employment and education outcomes for Indigenous Australians.
Members will be provided the opportunity to bid for relevant projects valued up to $50 million annually, either working directly for CBRE or within CBRE’s client base as new contracts become available or existing contracts renewed.
To ensure positive social outcomes for the Indigenous community, CBRE is also launching a social development initiative whereby a percentage of the profits achieved through the Indigenous Centre of Excellence will be reinvested in Indigenous community projects.
"CBRE is committed to building meaningful relationships with each of the CBRE Indigenous Centre of Excellence founding member companies and to creating valuable business opportunities that will benefit the Indigenous community and help our clients diversify their supply chains," says Emma Forster Mitrovski, CBRE’s senior managing director, global workplace solutions.
Laura Berry, CEO of supplier diversity promotion organisation Supply Nation says, "CBRE has taken a huge leap forward in its support of the Indigenous business community and the groundbreaking social development initiative will deliver a positive social impact in the communities that need it most."
